Fresh 'Game of Thrones' trailer teases explosive Season 7, Episode 5 ahead

Though the movie has tons of old school battles to draw inspiration from, the showrunners took inspiration from Apocalypse Now when they had Daenerys driving in with her dragon.

Game of Thrones season 7 episode 5 titled Eastwatch will be aired August 13 on HBO and HBO Canada at 9 pm ET. It's the fulfillment of one of the show's oldest promises, to release the dragons in a fight. "Bend the knee and join me, or refuse and die", Daenerys gravely remarks at the beginning of the clip. It looks like we are going to face the Cersei vs Daenerys battle sooner than we expected. She's ignored Tyrion's advice, and as we watched the Lannister soldiers screaming in agony as they burnt alive - reduced to nothing but a pile of ash - we realised what she was capable of. We also know that Daenerys is the surviving Targaryen offspring, and that Jon Snow's father is also a Targaryen. But she definitely seems concerned by what he has to say.

At least we get one smile in this batch, and it comes while Varys has a drink with his old friend in front of the Dragonstone throne.

Considering Varys is battling some inner complications of his own after his impending doom was teased by Melisandre - maybe they'll both runaway together into the Westeros sunset and live happily ever after?

As for whether or not he's right, we'll probably find out in a few episodes one way or another.

Sam and Gilly have their heads buried in books.

The last season will pit the survivors of the houses great and small against the White Walkers and the Night King.

After all, these dragons were little pipsqueaks when we first met them in Season 1.

The significance of the photo above is mostly that it offers you a chance to see Cersei Lannister seemingly recovering from some of the news that she's heard from the battleground. For an episode named after the Night's Watch castle now being manned by Tormund and the wildlings, there's nary a glimpse of it to be found. But judging by these photos we're not sure he'll want to.

What do you make of these photos?
