Police found 17 undocumented immigrants locked inside a tractor trailer in Edinburg on Sunday according to ABC affiliate, KRGV.

There were no ambulances observed on the scene, and Edinburg police did not report any injuries or casualties.

Police were notified by a concerned family member in Mexico who reported that a relative was trapped inside a trailer.

A man and woman who oversaw that trailer have been detained and the U.S. Border Patrol is investigating, according to reports. The locked trailer was in the parking lot of a "Flying J" convenience store, according to Fox 8.

A male and female of Cuban nationality who were accountable for the tractor-trailer were kept, police said.

Border Patrol is taking over the investigation.

Before being taken into custody, The Monitor observed a group of more than 10 individuals sitting in a shaded area underneath a tree.
