Leyton Orient: Bonne quits U's for O's

Leyton Orient have signed Colchester striker Macauley Bonne on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Having started at Ipswich Town and following a brief spell at Norwich City, Bonne joined the U's at the age of 14 and made his professional debut with a substitute outing at Shrewsbury Town on October 2013.

And the Zimbabwe global scored his first goal for the first team on his 18th birthday in the U's win over Peterbrough United.

The 21-year-old joined National League side Woking on loan last season, failing to score in seven appearances.

Director of Football Tony Humes said: "Sometimes, you have to be fair to a player and let him move on to pastures new, we do have a duty of care to all our young players coming through the system".

"Whilst it didn't quite work out here for Macca, we all thank him for all his efforts in his time here and wish him well in his future career".
