Xiaomi has just confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is coming on May 25. The official poster on Weibo shows that the company will host a news conference on May 25, 2017 at 2 PM.

If your memory serves you correctly, you will know that when Xiaomi previously announced its Mi Max, it featured a massive 6.4-inch display that gave it the advantage to sport a large battery capacity. Earlier reports had claimed the Mi Max 2 would be unveiled along with the Mi 6, but that didn't happen. However, Xiaomi, like it usually does, with time will release the handset in other markets as well.

As always, there have been multiple leaks surrounding the device which have given a gist all the features and specifications. RAM will be 4GB, while internal memory will be 128GB. Other variant is powered by a 2.5GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 6GB RAM with Adreno 512 GPU. The phone is also said to sport a 5-megapixel front camera. The device runs Android 6.0.1 and is backed by a 4850mAh non-removable battery.

Now, a separate rumor suggested that a 12-megapixel camera setup on the back will pack in a Sony's IMX378 sensor, and that the phone will cost between 1,499 Yuan ($217) and 1,699 Yuan ($246), once it arrives. Like the Mi Max, the successor model will also have a metal unibody outline and a finger print sensor put at the back. We also expect to see the NFC support along with fingerprint sensor for using the Mi Pay mobile payment service in China. Mi Max 2 is going to be the successor of the Mi Max which was launched past year. Now we've seen quite a few incorrect leaks take place around the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, so let's hope this poster date turns out to be true.

There are speculations over the camera, an important feature for all latest launches.
