Johnson scores 3 TDs as Cardinals demolish Jets

Led by a ridiculous performance by David Johnson, the Cards (3-3) earned an easy 28-3 win over the New York Jets (1-5) on Monday Night Football at University of Phoenix Stadium.

GLENDALE, AZ - OCTOBER 17: Wide receiver Brandon Marshall #15 of the New York Jets makes a reception over cornerback Patrick Peterson #21 of the Arizona Cardinals during the second quarter of the National Football League game at the University of Phoenix Stadium on October 17, 2016 in Glendale, Arizona. Coach Bruce Arians said Nkemdiche was making far too many mental mistakes in practice. But it was more of the same with backup quarterback Geno Smith running the show: his only drive ended in an interception.

After the game, Bowles announced that Fitzpatrick would be the team's starting quarterback next week and said pulling him was more about giving Smith some reps. On the second drive, the offensive line committed back-to-back false starts to sabotage the drive. A defense that was viewed as a strength of the roster entering the season is allowing over 27 points per game, which ranks 25th in the league. They were burned by big plays early - including a 58-yard touchdown run by Johnson - and looked exhausted late as the game slipped away.

A pass interference penalty on Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson, followed by a slip by Peterson during Brandon Marshall's 36-yard catch and run, had NY in excellent field position.

Maybe the Cardinals clicked so well offensively in 2015 that they could run and pass when they wanted, and what they did on the ground was naturally overshadowed by all the bombs collected down the field by a star-studded cast of receivers. "There were probably four occasions where I could have made a better play".

NY had 130 yards in the first half, 70 on three receptions by Brandon Marshall. We've got to continue to fight, continue to tune out the outside noise, continue to play for one another, and really just be consistent.

Carson Palmer left Monday night's 28-3 win over the New York Jetsin the fourth quarter with a hamstring issue the team initially described as a strain but which the Arizona quarterback later attributed to cramping.

BILLS 45, 49ERS 16 LeSean McCoy rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns for the Buffalo Bills in a 45-16 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. "We've got a long way to go".

Arizona scored on a pair of 14-play drives in the second half. He's passed for seven touchdowns against five interceptions this season.

Johnson kick started the scoring when he took a Palmer handoff, then he followed some helpful blocks by right guard EARL WATFORD and Fitzgerald, with Johnson then scooting down the left sidelines to finish off his 58-yard scoring run. After Cardinals receiver Michael Floyd was called for a questionable illegal blocking call, McDonough mumbled, "Oh my goodness", while analyst John Gruden said "Oh boy". The interception was Fitzpatrick's 11th of the season. I'm ready right now. New York's lowly secondary was to blame for a bulk of the team's penalties.
