Jesse Ertz will start against Texas

Kansas State Wildcats head coach Bill Snyder is notoriously reluctant to share injury news, but during the weekly Big 12 coaches teleconference on Monday, he did reveal that he anticipates that starting quarterback Jesse Ertz will play against the Texas Longhorns on Saturday.

The numbers - Ertz completed 8-of-14 passes for 64 yards. Ertz was throwing a pass for the end zone in the second quarter when he was hit and driven into the ground.

Ertz turned to the K-State sideline and asked to come out. He finished with 68 yards passing and 40 yards rushing on top of a touchdown.

Ertz missed the second half of last weekend's game against Oklahoma due to a shoulder injury.

In the event that Ertz is unable to play, former Cheney Cardinal Joe Hubener will likely be under center. "I am going to practice as if I am (going to start) this week and we will see how things go".
